  • Single Use Only. One willow, one snap. There is no putting it back together.
  • Small parts. Not suitable for children under 3 without adult supervision.
What the maker says about it

Ancient legend replica. Modelled on the wishing willow of the old story — hollow through the middle, with a bark texture printed into the surface.

How it works. “Spark the middle and break in half.” The hollow section gives at one point so it breaks cleanly rather than bending.

You only get one wish. “You only get ONE WISH.” Once it is snapped it is snapped.

Perfect gift idea. It arrives in a printed kraft box that needs no wrapping.

Fun for all ages. The maker’s words. Read the safety line above and use your own judgement about who is at the table.

Quoted from the Tini Cat Curiosities listing and packaging. Cannot grant wishes involving time machines. Use at Your Own Risk. Users assume full responsibility for wish outcomes.

At a glance

Four things that are actually true

Everything below is either a field from the listing or a line printed on the box. Nothing on this page is a claim we made up on the maker’s behalf.

Single Use Only

One willow, one wish, one snap. The maker prints this on the box four separate times.

3D-printed PLA

Printed, not carved. The listing files it under “fabric type”, which is an apparel field — the value is the material.

Light & easy to hold

Hollow the whole way through, which is why it weighs almost nothing and why it breaks where it is meant to.

Retro kraft box

Printed in one colour on folded card. It needs no wrapping, which is most of the reason people buy it as a gift.

Your wish is one snap away

Three steps, about eleven seconds

Inspired by ancient legend, created for modern fun.

  1. 1

    Make a wish

Hold it, focus, and make your deepest wish.

  2. 2

    Break it

Bend and break the willow. It snaps with a crack.

  3. 3

    Then find out

Legend says your wish will come true. That is the brand’s line, and half the fun of it.

The maker’s own diagram of the three steps, printed on kraft

Printed on the back of the box

“Cannot grant wishes involving time machines. Use at Your Own Risk. Users assume full responsibility for wish outcomes.”

What you are buying

A novelty party prop. A 3D-printed stick that snaps in half with a crack, in a box that is funnier than most greetings cards, for about the price of a round of drinks.

What the legend is for

The pause. The ten seconds where somebody actually stops and decides what they want most, in front of other people. That part is real and it is the whole reason this thing works at a table.

What we are not telling you

That it works. Tini Cat Curiosities printed “legend says your wish will come true” on the artwork and that is where it stays — their words, about a legend. We sell you the willow and the moment.

Hollow perforated design

Hollow willow branch design

Imitation willow hollow design, unique shape, light and easy to hold, perfect as desktop decor and photography prop.

Hollow the whole way through. Five openings down the middle, which is what makes it light enough to hand across a table and weak enough in one place to break cleanly rather than bend.

Bionic willow shape. The maker’s term for the bark texture printed into the surface. At arm’s length in a dim room it reads as a piece of burnt branch.

3D Printing PLA. Printed, not carved and not moulded. Under a lamp you can see the print lines, which is true of everything made this way.

The maker’s own three words for it: imagination, surprise, joy. It costs less than the snacks and it is the bit people describe afterwards.

Three people on a sofa, one holding the willow

Something to hand round a table

It needs no rules, no setup and no explaining. Everyone understands it in about a second and a half, which is why it works with a group who have never met.

Retro packaging

Retro packaging, perfect for gifting & display

Kraft paper retro packaging with fun patterns, ideal for collection display, holiday gifting and themed photography.

It arrives ready to give. Printed kraft card, one colour, closed with folded triangular ends. Nobody has ever needed to wrap this.

The back of the box is the joke. “Spark the middle and break in half”, the maker’s name, and a paragraph of small print about time machines.

People keep the empty one. Which is a strange thing to say about a box, and it is in the photographs for a reason.

Before you buy it

What is in the box, and what is not

Half of this section is answered no. A ten-pound novelty gets returned for exactly one reason — somebody expected something else — and every one of those is avoidable here.

What you get

  • One willow, printed hollow, in a printed boxOr two or three, if you take a bundle.
  • A snap you can hear across a roomIt weighs almost nothing and it still cracks loudly. That surprises people.
  • A box that needs no wrappingKraft card, one ink, folded ends.
  • Ten seconds where somebody decides what they want mostIn front of other people. That is the part that works.

What you do not

  • A second wishSingle Use Only. There is no putting it back together and the maker says so on four separate panels.
  • Any promise that the wish is grantedThe maker prints “legend says”. We quote them. Neither of us is claiming more than that.
  • Something to keepIt exists to be broken. If you want one on the shelf afterwards, that is what the bundles are for.
  • A toy for a small childSmall parts. Not suitable for children under 3 without adult supervision.

Twelve adults went completely silent, then all shouted at once

Bought it as a stocking-filler joke for my sister's birthday and it ended up being the whole evening. She read the box out loud, the bit about not granting wishes involving time machines, and everyone lost it. Then she actually went quiet for about ten seconds before she snapped it. That pause is the product. Worth ten pounds for that pause alone.

The packaging does most of the work

I did not expect the box to be this nice. Kraft paper, one colour, all the little stars printed on it, and the daft small print on the back. I handed it over without wrapping it because it already looks like a present. My mate has kept the empty box on his shelf, which tells you something.

Priya N. Verified28 June 2026

Snapped much more easily than I was braced for

Fair warning: it goes at the first proper bend. I had built it up in my head as a big dramatic effort and it just went, crack, done, before I had finished the sentence. Four stars only because I would have liked one more second of suspense. Everyone else at the table thought that was the funny part.

Reply from the brand

That is the hollow section in the middle doing its job — it is designed to give at one point so it always breaks cleanly rather than bending and tearing. Hold it at the very ends and go slowly next time; you get a longer build-up.

Used it as the closing bit at a leaving do

Forty people, end of the night, we got the guy leaving to make a wish for the team and snap it. Half of them were filming. It is not a complicated object and that is exactly why it worked — everybody understands it in about a second and a half, no explaining, no rules.

Steph L. 9 June 2026

Bought the two-pack and I am glad I did

One got snapped the night it arrived. The second one is sitting on my desk because it genuinely looks good — matte black, all those holes through it, it does not look like a plastic toy at all until you pick it up and realise how light it is. Get two. You will want one left over.

Better in the hand than in the photos

The listing photos make it look smooth. It is not — the surface has a proper bark texture printed into it, little ridges and knots. Held at arm's length in a dim room it passes completely for a bit of burnt branch. Under a lamp you can see the print lines, but that is true of everything 3D printed.

Ffion D. Verified22 May 2026

Read the box first — mine came already cracked at one end

Turned up with a split at one of the ends, not the middle. Still snapped fine and nobody at the table noticed, but for something whose entire job is being broken at the right moment I would have liked it to arrive in one piece. Three stars for the delivery, not the idea. The idea is good.

Reply from the brand

That should not happen and we would rather replace it than have you say nothing — message us with a photo and we will send another out. The ends are the thinnest part of the print and they take the worst of it in transit; we are packing them with more padding at the ends now.

Hen night. Enormous hit. No further comment needed

Nine of us in a cottage in Wales. It went round the table, everyone got a go at holding it, and the bride snapped it at midnight. Cost less than a round of drinks and got talked about more than anything else that weekend.

Ade F. Verified4 May 2026

My nine-year-old nephew has told the entire school

Handed it over on a Sunday, by Tuesday his mum said three separate parents had asked her where the wish stick came from. He would not tell anyone what he wished for, which apparently is very important and a rule he made up himself. He has kept the two halves in his drawer.

Bea C. 25 April 2026

Lovely thing, but it is single use and that is the whole point

Just so nobody is surprised: once it is snapped, it is snapped. There is no putting it back together and no second wish. The box says so about four times and I still had a moment of "oh". If you want something to keep, buy two and only break one.

Reply from the brand

That is exactly right and we would rather it was over-obvious than a surprise. One wish, one snap, and then it is two halves and a story. The two-pack exists for precisely the reason you have described.

Tom V. Verified17 April 2026

The crack is louder than you would expect from something this light

It weighs almost nothing, so I assumed it would go with a sad little click. It does not. It is a proper sharp snap that carries across a room, which is why it works at a party. Two people jumped.

Ngozi A. Verified6 April 2026

Bought it for a photo shoot and it earned its keep

I style props for small-brand shoots and I picked this up as a halloween filler. It photographs beautifully — completely matte, no shine to fight, and the holes through the middle give you something to light through. It has been in four sets since and it has not been snapped yet.

Questions

The ones people actually ask

Including the first one, which most shops selling this product answer by saying nothing at all.

Does the wish actually come true?

No shop can tell you that and this one is not going to try. Tini Cat Curiosities print “legend says your wish will come true” on their artwork; that is their line, about a legend, and it is quoted here as theirs. What you are buying is a printed willow, a box with good small print, and the ten seconds where somebody has to decide what they want most in front of other people. The maker’s own back panel puts it best: “Cannot grant wishes involving time machines. Use at Your Own Risk. Users assume full responsibility for wish outcomes.”

How hard is it to snap?

Not hard. The middle section is hollow with five openings through it, so it gives at one point rather than bending along its length. Hold it at the two ends and bend — most people report it goes at the first proper push, sooner than they expected.

Can I use it twice?

No. Single Use Only. Once it is in two pieces it stays in two pieces, and the maker prints that on four separate panels of the box. If you want one left over afterwards, that is what the bundles are for.

What is it made of?

3D Printing PLA. The listing files this under "Fabric type", which is an apparel field. The value is the material: 3D-printed PLA. It is printed rather than carved, so under a lamp you can see the print lines — that is normal for anything made this way, and it is why it weighs almost nothing.

Is it safe for children?

The listing’s own bullet says “Fun for all ages”. The packaging carries a small-parts warning: Small parts. Not suitable for children under 3 without adult supervision. Both are printed on this page rather than only the flattering one. Use your judgement about who is at the table.

Does it come gift-wrapped?

It comes in the printed kraft box you can see in the photographs — folded card, one ink, triangular ends. Most people hand it over exactly as it arrives.

What is the difference between the four options on the listing?

Those four options are on the maker’s Amazon listing, and two of them are duplicates — “1pc” and “1-pc” are the same thing at two different prices. This shop does not use them. It sells three packs of its own: 1 for $9.99, 2 for $18.99, 3 for $27.99.

Can I photograph it?

It is one of the three uses the maker lists — light & easy to hold, desktop decor, photography prop. It is completely matte, so there is no shine to fight, and the openings through the middle give you something to light through.
